Fatal 3-car accident occurs near Maryland shopping center

Most of the time thousands of people in Maryland run their daily errands without incident and with nary a thought as to the possibility that danger could be present. Nevertheless, accidents can happen even in the simplest of circumstances that have a life-shattering effect not only on those involved, but on their loved ones as well.

A three-vehicle accident recently cost a Maryland woman her life. The victim was driving a minivan when a westbound box truck crossed over the center lines, striking her vehicle head-on. The impact of the crash forced both vehicles spinning backwards where they then commenced to strike a Jeep.

The operator of the minivan was transported to an area shock trauma center, but ultimately passed away from injuries she suffered in the crash. The woman operating the Jeep was also hospitalized. The accident occurred on Route 22 near a shopping center at approximately 2:30 in the afternoon. It is not yet known why the driver of the box truck crossed over to the center lines.

Accidents like this are incredibly tragic. Not only are the deceased's loved ones hungry for answers surrounding the accident, but they are also left with the insurmountable grief that follows a fatal crash. When this happens, they may think about pursuing legal action against the driver that caused the accident.

A wrongful death suit is one type of lawsuit that may be filed following a fatal crash. In a wrongful death suit, the deceased's loved ones can seek compensation for the various types of damages and expenses that come with a fatal accident. Usually to prevail in such a suit, it needs to be shown that the driver who caused the fatal accident acted negligently or willfully and that the victim's survivors suffered some form of financial damages following the victim's death.

When it comes to a fatal accident, emotions are left raw and pocketbooks may be left drained. Fortunately, a victim's survivors may have the opportunity to pursue compensation for the harms they suffered following the crash.
