Maryland woman dies in intersection-related crash

Intersections can be inherently dangerous places, where many cars meet and cross paths. All it takes is for one person to disregard a stop sign or traffic light for a fatal car accident to occur.

A Maryland woman was killed recently in an accident at an intersection at a shopping center. The woman was waiting at a red light in order to make a left-hand turn. At this point a second vehicle struck the woman's car from behind. The force of the collision caused the woman's car to collide with the car in front of her. The woman was sent to an area hospital, but ultimately passed away. Neither of the other two drivers were injured in the crash. As of right now, ice does not appear to have played a role in the auto accident.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 95 fatal intersection-related car accidents occurred statewide in Maryland in 2012. When a person dies in a fatal intersection related crash, their loved ones are left with inconsolable grief. However, they may have the opportunity to seek compensation for their loss. By holding the responsible parties liable in a negligence or wrongful death suit, a victim's loved ones may recover for hospital and other medical bills, funeral and death related expenses and even loss of consortium.

While no amount of money can truly compensate for the loss of a loved one, those who are looking for more information on the types of compensation available after a fatal crash may want to seek the advice of a professional. Doing so could be an essential first step in obtaining recovery for the damages they suffered.
