Maryland car accident injuries three when driver drives wrong way

One of the scariest things for a driver cruising down a highway is to see another driver coming straight at them at lighting fast speeds. When a driver drives the wrong way down a highway, they often are travelling toward other vehicles at such a fast pace that the other drivers do not have an opportunity to react. When two cars travelling at high speed directly impact, the resulting car accidents are often tragic causing severe injuries and occasionally death.

A multi-vehicle accident on Maryland Route 50 sent three people to the hospital and closed the highway for much of the day. The accident occurred after a jeep was traveling the wrong way on Route 50 and struck four other vehicles.

One of the victims of the accident was airlifted to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore while two other victims were taken to an emergency center in Grasonville. All three had serious injuries. It was not reported whether or not the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the accident.

Regardless of what happens to the other driver in a criminal sense, it is important that a person injured in a car accident takes the proper steps to protect their rights and recover damages for medical bills, pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of consortium, lost wages and a variety of other expenses and costs. A personal injury attorney may be able to help victims of car accidents and their families recover compensation for their losses. It is always important to contact a legal professional as soon as possible.
